A strange man in a little room tells us about carnivorous plants and makes fun of mankind for inventing sub-quality traps. Implicates God as the ultimate insecticide. I think.

This is rotsucker, rotsuckers started out as carnivorous plants, but evolved mobility due to their insatiable taste for rotting flesh. There remains traces of their plant past in the vestigial roots that sprout from the rotsuckers ankles, in dire times they can still draw nutrients from the soil. The rotsucker simply travels from carcass to carcass, sucking up the putrid flesh of decaying spore, which combined with the bile in their stomachs is quite useful as a knockout gas, allowing them to deliver a death blow then wait for the rot to begin. The rotsucker will fiercely defend it's food source, rooting itself into the food source if necessary http://www.spore.com/sporepedia#qry=usr-scorcer%3Asast-500006391409

Carnivorous plants (sometimes called insectivorous plants) are plants that derive some or most of their nutrients (but not energy) from trapping and consuming animals or protozoans, typically insects and other arthropods. Carnivorous plants appear adapted to grow in places where the soil is thin or poor in nutrients, especially nitrogen, such as acidic bogs and rock outcroppings. Charles Darwin wrote the first well-known treatise on carnivorous plants in 1875.[1] True carnivory is thought to have evolved in at least 10 separate lineages of plants, and these are now represented by more than a dozen genera in 5 families. These include about 625 species that attract and trap prey, produce digestive enzymes, and absorb the resulting available nutrients. Additionally, over 300 protocarnivorous plant species in several genera show some but not all these characteristics.
